What is Maailman Kuvalehti?
Maailman Kuvalehti (in English: The World in Pictures) is a media outlet for the curious global citizen. The magazine publishes stories from around the world and sheds light on current phenomena. Our aim is that our audience will build trust and hope in the world when reading the magazine.
The print version is published by Finnish Development NGOs Fingo four times a year. Respected writers and photographers from both Finland and abroad take part in creating the magazine. We believe in unique reportage, insightful stories and articles that expand the reader’s understanding of the world.
We share the print magazine’s articles for free on our website so that everyone can have access to quality information. In addition, we publish online exclusive content several times a week.
The articles reach about 150 000 readers annually. We also publish podcasts.
We connect with our readers by organizing events, like movie screenings and clubs, where professionals from different fields engage in thought provoking discussions and talented entertainers perform.
The World in Pictures publishes:
• Humane in-depth stories from different countries
• High quality photo journalism by skilled photographers from Finland and abroad
• Touching and thought provoking stories from crisis areas
• Insightful personal stories
• Analysis of current phenomena
